Fire Hall project is finally underway

Spring of 2018 saw the start of the project to provide modern facilities to house both the apparatus and the members of the North Oyster Volunteer Fire Department.  This project will see the construction of a new four bay facility and a complete renovation of the old facility. The renovation will provide much-needed office, training, and living space.

This process has seen two decades of efforts including two unsuccessful public processes.
Of the total $2.7-million project cost, approximately $2.3-million is from reserves, including Gas Tax funding, while the remaining amount will come from short-term debt.
